2008 Linux Developer Symposium - China

The 2008 Linux Developer Symposium - China co-hosted by the Linux Foundation and China OSS Promtion Union g will be open on Feb. 19th-20th 2008 at Park Plaza Beijing Science Park.

This two-day event includes a summit on February 19th, followed by roundtable and BOF sessions on February 20th. Session topics will cover Linux server, desktop and mobile embedded technology. Confirmed speakers include: Andrew Morton of the Linux Foundation and Google, Jonathan Corbet of Linux Weekly News, Coly Li of SuSE Labs/Novell, Dave Neary of GNOME Foundation, Matt Mackall of Selenic Consulting, Glenn Seiler of Wind River and Jim Zemlin of our very own, Linux Foundation.

The year is winding down and while we have a lot to look forward to next year, what were the greatest Linux innovations of this year? This year at Phoronix, we have published over 325 articles, with most of them being Linux hardware and graphics reviews, and that is in addition to over 700 original news entries. After spending much time in considering what the "best" and most substantial Linux gains over the year have been, we have comprised a list of what we believe are the greatest Linux innovations of 2007 along with our reasoning behind these decisions.

    In order to promote the development and application of OSS in China, to strengthen international communication and cooperation on open standard, open source technology, open source industry, and to make more contribution to the global open source area and open source communities, China OSS Promotion Union has sincerely invited some world-leveled leaders, masters, and elites in the global open source field to join the Think Tank of COPU as senior advisers.
